We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

## Conformance status

The [Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)](https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. \\[TRIAL_NAME Participant Information] is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

### Specific exceptions to WCAG 2.1 level AA compliance

* There is no site map or table of contents as the linear navigation path through the content (with no method for the user to jump ahead) mitigates against the usefulness of this feature.
* Third party frameworks used to build this app - e.g. [Nuxt](https://nuxtjs.org/) - may contain some minor accessibility issues which are not editable by Morph. This includes, for instance, CSS loading animations the duration of which has been to set to longer than 5 seconds. We have attempted to ensure that these exceptions do not impact negatively on user experience.
* Colour contrast errors relating to the site footer navigation may be picked up by automated accessibility checking tools such as WAVE. These errors relate to the starting state of the effected elements prior to CSS animations occurring. Once the short loading animation is complete the visual appearance of the effected elements complies with WCAG AA colour contrast requirements.
* We have not applied any customisation to focus indicators, instead relying on browser defaults. This approach allows any user applied customisation, e.g. through system-wide assistive technology, to be applied.

## Screenreaders

This site has been tested in several screenreaders, including Narrator, NVDA and VoiceOver. We have striven to ensure that all content is accessible to these readers, although we are aware of inconsistencies in how they handle more complex features such as the video transcripts. Please [contact Morph](mailto:info@morph.co.uk) if you are unable to access any of the website content using your preferred screenreader.

## Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. We understand that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your personal data is used. We respect and value the privacy of all of our customers and suppliers’ data and will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described here, and in a way that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under the law.

## 1. Information about us

Morph is a partnership.

Main trading address: 8 New Shambles, Kendal, LA9 4TS

VAT Reg: 400693620

Data Protection Officer: Matthew Brook

Email address: info@morph.co.uk

Telephone number: 01524 884 288

Postal Address: 8 New Shambles, Kendal, LA9 4TS

## 2. What does this policy cover?

This Privacy Policy relates specially to this website only and explains how we use your personal data on the site: how it is collected, how it is held, and how it is processed. It also explains your rights under the law relating to your personal data.

## 3. What is personal data?

Personal data is defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) (the “GDPR”) as ‘any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier’. Personal data is, in simpler terms, any information about you that enables you to be identified. Personal data covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but it also covers less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data, and other online identifiers. The personal data that we use is set out in Part 5, below.

## 4. What are your rights?

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights, which we will always work to uphold:

1. The right to be informed about our collection and use of your personal data. This Privacy Policy should tell you everything you need to know, but you can always contact us to find out more or to ask any questions using the details in Part 11.
2. The right to access the personal data we hold about you. Part 10 will tell you how to do this.
3. The right to have your personal data rectified if any of your personal data held by us is inaccurate or incomplete. Please contact us using the details in Part 11 to find out more.
4. The right to be forgotten, i.e. the right to ask us to delete or otherwise dispose of any of your personal data that we have. Please contact us using the details in Part 11 to find out more.
5. The right to restrict (i.e. prevent) the processing of your personal data.
6. The right to object to us using your personal data for a particular purpose or purposes.
7. The right to data portability. This means that, if you have provided personal data to us directly, we are using it with your consent or for the performance of a contract, and that data is processed using automated means, you can ask us for a copy of that personal data to re-use with another service or business in many cases.
8. Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling. We do not use your personal data in this way.

For more information about our use of your personal data or exercising your rights as outlined above, please contact us using the details provided in Part 11.

Further information about your rights can also be obtained from the Information Commissioner’s Office or your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

If you have any cause for complaint about our use of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

## 5. What personal data do we collect when you visit this website?

You may visit the Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information about you. The website is hosted by Netlify and their servers log the IP addresses of all requests for security purposes. These logs are stored for less than 30 days and are not used to identify individuals.

Netlify is committed to helping users understand the General Data Protection Regulation and to comply with its requirements and Morph have entered into a legally binding Data Protection Agreement with Netlify to ensure that this is the case (https://www.netlify.com/gdpr-ccpa)

[Cookie Policy](/cookie-policy)

## 6. How do we use your personal data?

Under the GDPR, we must always have a lawful basis for using personal data. This may be because the data is necessary for our performance of a contract with you, because you have consented to our use of your personal data, or because it is in our legitimate business interests to use it. Your personal data may be used for one of the following purposes:

* IP addresses are required by Netlify to troubleshoot a number of issues, such as connectivity issues, tracking down specific HTTP responses, tracking DDoS attacks.

## 7. How long will we keep your personal data?

IP addresses are logged for no more than 30 days.

## 8. How and where do we store or transfer your personal data?

We may store or transfer some or all of your personal data in countries that are not part of the European Economic Area (the “EEA” consists of all EU member states, plus Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein). These are known as “third countries” and may not have data protection laws that are as strong as those in the UK and/or the EEA. Morph have signed a Data Protection Agreement with Netlify to ensure that your personal data is treated just as safely and securely as it would be within the UK and under the GDPR.

## 9. Do we share your personal data?

No.

## 10. How can I access my personal data?

Morph do not have access to IP addresses logged by Netlify.

## 11. How do I contact you?

To contact us about anything to do with your personal data and data protection, including to make a subject access request, please use the following details (for the attention of Matthew Brook):

Email address: info@morph.co.uk

Telephone number: 01524 884 288

Postal Address: 8 New Shambles, Kendal, LA9 4TS

Pursuant to Article 27 of the European Union (EU) and United Kingdom (UK) General Data Protection Regulation, VeraSafe has been appointed as Netlify’s representative in the European Union and United Kingdom for data protection matters. It is a strong structure in the centre of the knee. It attaches the thigh bone to the shin bone.

ACL injuries can be treated with surgery or rehabilitation physiotherapy. You will decide with your surgeon and family or carers which is more suitable for you.

If you choose surgery, you may be eligible for this study.

The ACL STARR study will compare two types of surgery to see which is better. A reconstruction, where the torn ligament is replaced using tissue from elsewhere in your body, or a repair, which means that your torn ligament is kept and repaired. Both are already performed in the NHS.

If you decide to join the study, we will ask you to sign a consent form and to complete a set of questions about your knee injury.

At the start of your operation, your surgeon will look at your ligament to make sure it is suitable for either surgery. If repair surgery isn't suitable, you will have reconstruction surgery. You will not be part of the study and will be looked after as normal.

If it is suitable, your type of surgery will be decided randomly by a computer. Half of our participants will have reconstruction surgery and half will have repair surgery.

We won't tell you which surgery you've had until after the study has finished.

After surgery, you will have physiotherapy to help your recovery.

At three and six weeks after surgery, we will ask you to complete a pain score. This is a number on a scale from zero to ten, sent by text, email, or post, depending on your choice.

At six, twelve and twenty-four months after your operation, we will send you a set of questions by email or by post. We want to find out how well you function, walk, run, or play sport two years after surgery.

It will only take ten minutes to complete each set of questions.

Taking part is voluntary and you can leave at any time.

By taking part, you'll help us find out which surgery is best for treating torn ACLs.

The doctors, surgeons and research team are happy to answer any questions about joining the study.
[1097,1102,1107
"acl-starr-work-slider-mobile-1-2x.jpg
"acl-starr-work-slider-desktop-1-2x.jpg
"acl-starr-work-slider-mobile-2-2x.png
"acl-starr-work-slider-desktop-2-2x.png
"acl-starr-work-slider-mobile-3-2x.jpg
"acl-starr-work-slider-desktop-3-2x.jpg
"## Similar Work",[1117,1121,1125,1129
[50,60,55
[50,65
[70,65,60
"BIONTECH
50,60,55
"/work/acl-starr-study.en
work/acl-starr-study.en","Qq1e_OzloCb_eQ15GuwSonL5xwkEdFOhe90mQB5T7sI
"workPages/work/adepp-study.en.json","ADEPP Study
"ADEPP Study | Psychosis & Mental Health Research | Morph","Morph created sensitive patient communication materials for the ADEPP psychosis study at the University of Birmingham, including an animation and digital PIS.",[1148,1155,1161,1165,1171,1175,1182,1201,1221
"# ADEPP Study","Antidepressant for the Prevention of Depression Following First Episode Psychosis.
"adepp-work-header-2x.png
[1158,1159,1160
"textCol1":1163,"textCol2":1164
The ADEPP Study investigated treatment following First Episode Psychosis — the first time someone experiences psychotic symptoms.","The Study is investigated whether sertraline can help prevent depression in people experiencing their first episode of psychosis, for example, hallucinations and delusions. We think this may be related to depression.

Sertraline is already used in the NHS for the treatment and prevention of depression in other conditions.

This study will recruit patients from across England and Wales.

Half will receive the antidepressant Sertraline Half will receive a placebo, which contains no medicine.

This enables us to compare the effect of the active treatment sertraline with any effect that may be because someone thinks they have had the active treatment or of any additional monitoring.

This is done in most good medication trials. This type of study is called a longitudinal birth cohort.

C-GULL is the first dedicated birth cohort in Liverpool. We are inviting all women aged 16 and over, pregnant with their first child, being cared for at Liverpool Women’s Hospital to take part. We want to involve all women and partners, where appropriate.

Taking part is voluntary and you can change your mind and leave at any time. If you decide not to take part, you will still receive the normal standard of care. If you do decide to take part, you will be asked to sign a consent form.

You will be invited to visit the research centre at Liverpool Women’s Hospital between 12–16 weeks and 32–36 weeks of your pregnancy. At each visit you will see a research midwife and be asked some questions, have some measurements taken and give a small sample of blood, urine and hair. When you have your child we will also like to take a sample of your placenta and some of the blood from your child’s cord.

Shortly after birth we will ask if we can measure your baby’s body composition using a special incubator called a Pea Pod. This does not take long and should not cause any pain or discomfort to your baby.

We will contact you again when your baby is three months old and again at 12 months of age. At 24 months we will invite you back to the research centre with your toddler so that we can catch up with you and see how your baby is growing and developing.

In the future we will invite you to take part in follow-up assessments to discuss your child’s health and development. These assessments are voluntary.

We will also ask permission to request information from the NHS and other government departments. Dissemination Animation","As we get older, high levels of ‘bad cholesterol’ in our blood… can lead to fatty material building up in the walls of our arteries.

This can cause our arteries to become narrower or even blocked, stopping our blood flowing properly.

If this happens in our heart or brain, it can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

These can cause death or life-changing disability.

A widely available and affordable type of medication, called statins can lower our levels of bad cholesterol.

Statins have been tested in many clinical trials around the world.

In the highest quality trials large numbers of volunteers were randomly split into two groups one given a statin tablet and the other a matching dummy tablet, called a placebo.

Then scientists compared the health of each group over a period of years.

As neither group, nor clinical trial staff, knew which type of tablet they had been given the comparison between the groups was as fair as possible.

The results showed that statins are really effective at reducing heart attacks and strokes and that the benefits of taking them hugely outweigh any risks.

However, concerns about possible side effects have led some people to stop taking statins or decide against starting them.

To find out if this is really the case, a group of researchers looked at all the information from these high-quality big clinical trials.

They organised millions of pieces of information, from around 155,000 trial participants into a database.

Then they searched statin packaging leaflets for reports of medical problems listed as potential side effects to see if it made any difference whether people had taken the statins or the placebo.

The researchers found that memory loss or dementia, depression sleep disturbance, erectile dysfunction, weight gain, nausea, fatigue or headache and nearly all the other conditions listed as potential side effects occurred just as often in people taking the placebo as in those taking statins.

For example, each year the number of reports of memory impairment was 0.2% in those taking the statins, but also 0.2% in those taking the placebo.

This means that while people may notice these symptoms whilst taking statins there is now good evidence that they are not caused by the statin.

There was a very small increase in risk — about 0.1% in abnormal liver blood test results but no increase in serious liver conditions.

We already knew that almost all muscle problems, over 90%, are not caused by statins at all.

The very small number of muscle problems that were caused by a statin were generally mild and mainly occurred in the first year of treatment.

Statins can slightly increase the chance of developing diabetes mainly in those already at higher risk.

Taken together with what we already knew the new findings show that statins do not cause most of the possible side effects listed in the packaging Thousands of children around the world have this type of fracture.

In the past, doctors treated it in different ways. Some used a cast, allowing the bone to heal on its own. Others performed surgery, fixing the bone with screws or wires.

However, families want to feel confident that surgery will really benefit their child before going ahead.

To find out if surgery was better than a cast, researchers carried out the SCIENCE study, short for Surgery or Cast for Injuries of the Epicondyle in Children’s Elbows.

The study involved 334 children aged 7 to 15 from the UK, Australia and New Zealand. All had a displaced medial epicondyle fracture. A quarter had a particularly severe injury where the elbow was initially dislocated.

The SCIENCE study was a randomised trial. This means each child had an equal chance of receiving either treatment. The decision was made by chance, rather than by families or doctors, to make the comparison fair and ensure the results were trustworthy.

Half of the children wore a cast for four weeks, while the other half had surgery to fix the bone with screws or wires during their recovery.

Children and families were asked about pain, how well they could use their arm, how many hospital visits they had, and how much school they missed.

The results showed that both treatments worked just as well. Surgery did not lead to better recovery. Children had similar levels of pain, used their arms in the same way, and got back to sport just as quickly.

However, using a cast meant fewer operations, fewer complications, fewer days of school missed, and lower costs for families and the health system.

So, for children with this kind of elbow fracture, wearing a cast is just as effective as surgery and comes with fewer risks and lower costs.
[2269,2274,2279
"science-work-slider-mobile-1-2x.jpg
"science-work-slider-desktop-1-2x.jpg
"science-work-slider-mobile-2-2x.png
"science-work-slider-desktop-2-2x.png
"science-work-slider-mobile-3-2x.jpg
"science-work-slider-desktop-3-2x.jpg
[2288,2292,2296,2300
[60
[50,60,55
[55,50,60
[50,60,55
"Morph work - SCIENCE Study","/work/science-trial.en
work/science-trial.en","UYBt1d6M87mLqtqoyvLrkRzMOJEHTabTHYpaMzhOt98
"workPages/work/surge-study.en.json
"SURGE Study | NHS Urgent Care Research | Morph","Morph produced an explainer animation and a study website for the SURGE study into workforce challenges in urgent care at the University of the West of England.",[2318,2325,2331,2335,2341,2345,2352,2356,2374,2396
"# SURGE Study","Same day and urgent care workforce research partnership.
"surge-work-header-2x.png
[2328,2329,2330
"textCol1":2333,"textCol2":2334
The SURGE Study is investigating workforce challenges across the NHS same day and urgent care system.","Same day and urgent care is delivered by a wide range of healthcare professionals working in busy and unpredictable environments.
